			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>NOTICE OF ELECTION TO CREATE A NEW TAXING DISTRICT</strong></span></p>
<p>Pursuant to Idaho Code #39-2812, on June 15th, 2007, the Board of Power County Commissioners adopted a Resolution creating an emergency County-wide interim (two-year) mosquito abatement district to control West Nile Virus. The question to make this a permanent abatement district will be put before the voters in conjunction with the 2008 General Election on November 4th, 2008. Polling places will be open on November 4th, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., and are as follows: </p>

<p>The maximum amount of taxes that may be raised by the proposed MOSQUITO ABATEMENT DISTRICT is $625,000. The tax increase that would occur on that amount, as calculated by the Power County Assessor, is one hundred dollars ($100) per one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) of taxable value, above any exemptions. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>According to Bannock County&#8217;s resolution 2008-78, voters will be asked to approve the following in the general election in November, 2008: </p>
<p>&#8220;Shall Bannock County: (i) contribute substantially all of the assets of Portneuf Medical Center, a county-owned hospital, to a to-be-created joint venture community benefit organization, co-owned approximately 23 percent by Portneuf Health Care Foundation, Inc. and approximately 77 percent by Legacy Hospital Partners, Inc. or an affiliate thereof, and with shared 50:50 governance (CBO) which CBO will construct and operate a state-of-the-art, 139&#8211;bed hospital on its &#8220;East Campus&#8221; replacing the existing 2-campus Portneuf Medical Center, and (ii) discontinue the existence of the Portneuf Medical Center board of governors?&#8221; </p>
