2010 Primary Election for Legislative District 31

For the Primary Election scheduled for May 25, 2010, the following offices will be contested:

Idaho Senate District 31

Incumbent Bob Geddes (R-Soda Springs) has filed notice of intent to seek re-election to his 9th term

Idaho Legislature District 31-A

Incumbent Marc Gibbs (R-Grace) has filed notice of intent to seek re-election to his 2nd term
Idaho Legislature District 31-B

Incumbent Tom Loertscher (R-Bone) has filed notice of intent to seek re-election to his 12th term

For the Primary Election scheduled for May 25, 2010, the following offices will be contested:

Idaho Senate District 29

Incumbent Diane Bilyeu (D-Pocatello) has filed notice of intent to seek re-election to her third term

Idaho Legislature District 29-A

Incumbent Ken Andrus (R-Lava) has filed notice of intent to seek re-election to his fourth term

Idaho Legislature District 29-B

Incumbent Jim Ruchti (D-Pocatello) has determined not to seek re-election

Incumbent Edgar Malepeai has filed notice of intent to seek re-election to his fourth term

Idaho Legislature District 30-A

Incumbent Donna Boe has not filed notice

Idaho Legislature District 30-B

Incumbent Elaine Smith (D-Pocatello) has filed notice of intent to seek re-election to her sixth term

Primary Election Event Timeline

The Primary Election timeline for the election scheduled on May 25, 2009 are:

March 19: Last day for filing declarations of candidacy until 5:00 p.m.

April 12: Last day a candidate may withdraw before the primary

April 30: Last day for elector to pre-register for the Primary Election. Election day registration is also available.

May 1: Last day to submit initiative petition signatures to the County Clerk. This date is dependent upon when the 18-month circulation period started.

May 11: Last day declaration of intent to be filed by write-in candidates

May 19: Last day for application for mail-in absentee ballot to be received by the County Clerk not later than 5 p.m.

May 24: Last day for application for in-person absentee voting at the absent elector’s polling place until 5 p.m.

May 25: Last day for return of absentee ballots by 8 p.m.

May 25: Primary Election — 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Results of the Special Supplemental Levy Election for West Side School District #202 held on February 23, 2010:

For Supplemental Levy of $90,000,000 (YES): 64

For Supplemental Levy of $90,000,000 (NO): 5

The levy was approved.
