Notice of Samaria Recreation District Commissioner Election

The deadlines have been met for the November 3 election of Commissioners for District 2 and District 3 in the Samaria Recreation District.

The candidate for District 2 is Dana Sands. The candidates from District 3 are Jim Jenkins and Susan Packer.

Any person or persons owning property in these districts and District 1 are eligible to vote. Voting will be conducted on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Blue Goose, 4430 West 4900 South.

Notice of Special General Obligation Bond Election Franklin County, Idaho

NOTICE OF SPECIAL GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND ELECTION TO BE HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH GENERAL ELECTION

Pursuant to the laws of the State of Idaho and the Bond Election Ordinance of the Board of County Commissioners of Franklin County, Idaho, adopted on September 28, 2009, notice is hereby given that a Special General Obligation Bond Election will be held in the County on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, in conjunction with the General Election, beginning at the hour of 8:00 A.M. and closing at the hour of 8:00 P.M. on said date, for the purpose of taking a vote upon the following question, to wit:

QUESTION: Shall Franklin County, Idaho, issue and sell its negotiable bonds in the amount of $31,000,000 for the purpose of providing for construction, additions and renovations to the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston, Idaho, including the acquisition of improvements and equipment, and to pay expenses related thereto, for use by the County, said bonds due in such installments as fixed by the County Commissioners of Franklin County, Idaho, the last installment due and payable not more than thirty (30) years from the date of the bonds, as more fully provided in the Bond Election Ordinance adopted by the County Commissioners of Franklin County, Idaho, on September 28, 2009?

Notice is further given that only qualified electors of the County, being United States citizens eighteen (18) years of age or older, who have resided in the County for thirty (30) days preceding the Bond Election, who are registered or who register at the polls on the day of the Bond Election, as provided by law, are entitled to vote at said election.

Any registered elector of the County may make written application to the County Clerk of Franklin County, Idaho, in accordance with the law for an absentee ballot, provided that an absentee ballot must be received by the County Clerk at the above Absentee Address not later than 8:00 P.M. on the day of the election in order to be counted.

If at said Special General Obligation Bond Election two-thirds (2/3) of the qualified registered electors eighteen (18) years of age or older voting at such election assent to the issuing of said negotiable bonds and the incurring of the indebtedness thereby created for the purpose of acquiring and constructing additions and renovations to the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston, Idaho, including the acquisition of improvements and equipment, and to pay expenses related thereto, such negotiable bonds shall be issued for such voted purpose in the manner provided by the Idaho Code. Said negotiable bonds, or any issue thereof, shall mature over a period commencing within two (2) years from their date and ending not more than thirty (30) years from their date and shall bear interest and be payable from ad valorem taxes and other available resources, if any, in accordance with the provisions of the Idaho Municipal Bond Act.

The following information is required by § 34-439, Idaho Code: The total existing indebtedness of the County as of November 3, 2009, including interest accrued, is $76,348.20. The interest rate anticipated on the proposed negotiable bonds is four and eight-tenths percent (4.80%). The range of anticipated rates is from two percent (2.00%) to five and seventy-five hundredths percent (5.75%). The total amount to be repaid over the life of the proposed negotiable bonds, based on the anticipated interest rate, is $59,317,159.

Notice of City of Soda Springs Municipal Election

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That the General Election to be held in and for the CIty of Soda Springs, Idaho, will be held on Tuesday the 3rd day of November 2009 on which day the polls will be open from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. at the following designated polling place:
