Portneuf Medical Center Ballot Proposition
According to Bannock County’s resolution 2008-78, voters will be asked to approve the following in the general election in November, 2008:
“Shall Bannock County: (i) contribute substantially all of the assets of Portneuf Medical Center, a county-owned hospital, to a to-be-created joint venture community benefit organization, co-owned approximately 23 percent by Portneuf Health Care Foundation, Inc. and approximately 77 percent by Legacy Hospital Partners, Inc. or an affiliate thereof, and with shared 50:50 governance (CBO) which CBO will construct and operate a state-of-the-art, 139–bed hospital on its “East Campus” replacing the existing 2-campus Portneuf Medical Center, and (ii) discontinue the existence of the Portneuf Medical Center board of governors?”
